You must have a TD Bank personal checking account and complete a credit application to qualify for TD Moneyline Overdraft Protection.

Joint Checking Accounts – If your checking account is jointly held, you and your co-owner must agree to and sign the TD Moneyline Overdraft Protection application.

Minors – TD Moneyline Overdraft Protection may be offered on checking accounts that are jointly held with a minor, provided that you, as the adult on the account, supply the bank with a written statement that you accept full responsibility for the line of credit and all advances, whether activated by you or the minor.

If I have TD Moneyline Overdraft Protection, do I still need TD Debit Card AdvanceSM?
TD Moneyline Overdraft Protection allows us to automatically transfer funds from your line of credit to your linked checking account in order to cover transactions that would otherwise overdraw your checking account. However, if you don't have sufficient funds available in your line of credit, your ATM transactions and one-time debit card purchases may be declined. TD Debit Card Advance allows us to approve these transactions at our discretion, if you don't have enough money available in your TD Moneyline Overdraft Protection and linked checking account. 1Rate subject to change. A daily percentage rate of interest is assessed on advances from the date of the advance until the account is paid in full.

2$10 Overdraft Protection Transfer Fee charged to the linked checking account each day funds are automatically transferred from TD Moneyline Overdraft Protection when an overdraft occurs. The transfer fee is waived on TD StudentSM and TD RelationshipSM Checking accounts.

3Annual fee applies after the first year to new accounts opened after October 10, 2012.

What is the minimum required payment for TD Moneyline Overdraft Protection?
The minimum required payment is as follows:

  • Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Vermont, Virginia, and Washington, D.C: 4% or $20, whichever is greater
  • New Hampshire: 4% or $15, whichever is greater

Your monthly statement will include a TD Moneyline Overdraft Protection statement indicating the minimum payment due. There are 5 ways to make a payment.

  • Automatic Payments – Your payment is automatically deducted from your linked checking account.
  • Online Banking and Mobile Banking – Log on and transfer funds from your linked checking account to your TD Moneyline Overdraft Protection account.

This account is for overdraft protection only - the line of credit can not be used to make purchases directly. It's to cover overdrafts of your linked checking account, up to your available credit limit.

Can I increase the credit line on my existing TD Moneyline Overdraft Protection account?
Yes, there are three ways you can increase your credit limit.

If your application is approved, you will receive in the mail a Change in Terms Notice with your new credit limit listed on it. All other terms on your existing Agreement will remain the same, including APR and fees.
