I transferred funds into paypal and then made a purchase before paypal had settled the transfer. Paypal charged my account twice(first for the transfer, then for the payment of the purchases) and this put my chequings account into the negative. Is there anyway to avoid an overdraft fee. If not, what's the best way to resolve this issue?

Hi Craig. Thanks for visiting us at TD Helps!
We see you're writing in to us from Calgary. Please know you've reached us here at TD Bank in the United States. If this is in regard to an account with TD Canada Trust, we recommend reaching out to them directly by calling their 24/7 Customer Service line at 866-222-3456. You may also pose your question to TD Helps in Canada by clicking here: https://go.td.com/1QBOF4U.
If your question is in regard to an account you have with TD Bank in the U.S., we'd be happy to help. If both payments came through and left the account overdrawn, the account may be subject to overdraft fees. If your account is set up with overdraft protection the form of Savings Overdraft Protection or a Moneyline, you may have avoided an overdraft fee. If you were not previously set up with either of these services, we'd be happy to discuss overdraft protection options with you to see if it might be something you'd like to consider for the future. Please note that the Moneyline is a previous product we offered and is no longer available. To review our current overdraft protection options, please click here: https://go.td.com/1lx9Xko. We encourage you to give us a call 24/7 at 888-751-9000 or stop in to see us at any of our Stores. We'd be happy to review these transactions with you and provide options to help. To find a Store near you, please click here: https://go.td.com/1nq31dc.
We look forward to hearing from you soon, Craig! Have a great day!
