When I closed my account in 2012 I was issued a check for the $20.00 balance. Can I deposit it at my bank today or do I need to have it reissued and if so who do I contact?

Thanks for reaching out to us on TD Helps today.
Some checks have an expiration date (payroll checks, government checks, etc.), which limits or extends the time period when the checks can be cashed or deposited. When a check doesn't have an expiration date, it would be considered "stale dated" once it's six months old.
Please note that stale dated checks drawn on TD Bank may still be cashed after we verify the status of the account and check for a stop payment order. If a stop payment is not found, it is possible that the check may be presented to your account for payment even if six months or more have passed.
If you have any additional questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us 24/7 at 888-751-9000 or stop by any TD Store. To find a location near you, please visit: http://bit.ly/TDStores.
Hope this helps and have a great day.
