I inputted a new bank account from another bank into my direct deposit info for work, and it went into my closed TD account and was cleared, which I am not sure how it happened. How do I retrieve the money to put it into my new account?

Good afternoon, Aimee, and welcome to TD Helps.
We understand your concerns, and we're happy to let you know that, typically speaking, TD Bank will return a direct deposit to the sender within one business day of receiving the deposit if an account is closed. We recommend allowing 2-3 business days for receipt at the originating bank once your deposit has been sent back.
To determine the status of your funds, we also recommend that you contact your depositor to ensure they have received them, and to provide an alternate deposit option for them.
If you have any additional questions, or if you'd like to go over your account directly with a Specialist, you're welcome to give us a call. We're available 24/7 for you, and we can be reached at 888-751-9000. You would also have the option of stopping into your nearest TD Store location to speak with a Customer Service Representative, during lobby hours. Feel free to use the link here: http://go.td.com/1f9DSJR to find your nearest TD Store location, as well as their hours and contact information.
We hope this helps, Aimee. Enjoy your weekend!
