I have an account which I have not used for almost 6years. I am planning to go to canada within a year or so to visit my friend and I would like to take out money and close an account . for not using for many years,is it still possible to do it or all the money could be gone from my account? because I was told that if one has not used for more than 5 years,it will be automatically closed and one would lose his savings. so I am worried. i opened an account in the pacific centre mall vancouver .

Hi Shohei, thanks for connecting with us. TD Helps is dedicated to helping you with all your banking questions.
Since you bank with us north of the border, we recommend reaching out to a Banking Specialist at TD Canada Trust to confirm the status of your account. You can reach us 24/7 at 866-222-3456. Also, you may find this link helpful to get an idea of what happens to an account without recent activity: http://bit.ly/1wYj531.
If you'd like to stop by in person when you're in Canada, you can find a local TDCT Branch in your area here: http://bit.ly/IrZaYo. A Banking Specialist there can also look into the account for you.
We hope this helps Shohei. Please reach out to us again though if you have any further questions. Have a great day and a safe trip!
