I am thinking about opening a basic account in your bank.
I am not yet very familiar with the US banks and bank language and I therefore need your help.
Can you please answer following questions:
Do you charge something for a basic account?
Do you charge something for for ATM withdraws?
I wish to have a DEBIT CARD (mastercard or visa)
What do you charge for the DEBIT CARD?
Which interest do you pay on savings?
Do you charge something on money-transferts?
I look forward to reading you
Thank you very much for your help !

Happy Friday, Samuel!
It's great to hear that you're interested in opening an account with TD Bank, and we'll be more than happy to answer all your questions, and provide you with ways in which you may open your new account.
Before we begin, we'd like to take a moment to go over the current accounts that we offer. The first account types offered are Checking accounts, and you're welcome to take a look at the current Checking products here: https://go.td.com/1aDaRqd. If you believe that a Savings account may better fit your needs, you can view Savings products here: https://go.td.com/2bSlkVn. If you're having trouble deciding, or if you'd prefer a personalized recommendation based on your needs, we do offer a Selector Tool here: https://go.td.com/2sx4N2E.
At this time, there is no fee to open a Checking or Savings account with TD Bank; however, depending on the account type you wish to open, there may be fees assessed, and we invite you to check out the ink here: https://go.td.com/2hbuGjJ for additional information on what these fees may be, if any.
When you're ready to open your account, you have a couple ways in which you may do so. The first would be to open the account online using the links above. Simply find the account of your choosing, and then click the orange 'Open Account' button below it! This will take you directly to the beginning of the account opening process. If you'd prefer, you're also able to call and speak with a Banking Specialist, 24/7, at 1-888-751-9000, and they'll be happy to assist you right over the phone. As always, you're also able to visit a TD Store location, during lobby hours, to speak with a Customer Service Representative. To take a look at Store locations and their hours, please visit http://go.td.com/1f9DSJR.
Once you're account is active and open, you'll be able to retrieve a TD Bank VISA Debit Card, free of charge! Should you decide to open your account at a TD Store location, a Representative will be able to create a Debit Card for you, on the spot, and you will leave with it in your hand that same day. If you're unable to visit a TD Store location, that's okay too. By calling the number above, a Specialist will be happy to place an order for your new card, and it will be mailed to your address, typically within 7-10 business days.
When you have your Debit Card, and you're ready to use it, you may do so worldwide, wherever VISA is accepted. Some transactions, such as non-TD ATM withdrawals, may be assessed a fee, depending on the account type you chose. For more information on what fees may be assessed, you're welcome to view our Fee Schedule here: https://go.td.com/2lbbfGg.
If you're interested in opening a Savings account to go along with your Checking account, and were hoping to earn interest by doing so, we recommend reviewing this link: https://go.td.com/2bSlkVn for a current listing of our rates. It's important to note that rates are always changing, and the link above will provide you with the most up to date information for each account currently offered.
Once you have your accounts open and active, you may wish to perform transfers. Whether these transfers will be to either a person, or even to another account you may have with another financial institution, you'll be able to do both, right from your Online Banking!
If you wanted to transfer funds to a person or even request funds from them, TD Bank offers a convenient service called Send Money. This service is free, and will allow you to send transfers immediately to a friend or family member by either sending them a text message, an email, or even by depositing the funds directly into their account! We also offer an External Transfer service, which will allow you to transfer funds to and from another account you may have with another financial institution. Fees may be assessed for performing an external transfer, depending on your account type, and we invite you to check out the Fee Schedule above for additional information.
We sincerely hope this answers all your questions, and if you have any additional concerns, please don't hesitate to contact us directly at the number provided above, or even by contacting your nearest TD Store location. We're always here to help!
Thanks again for stopping by today, Samuel. Have a great weekend!
