Welcome to TD Helps, Donna. We'd be glad to help!
Please know that if you've recently registered a business name, it must be associated with a business account rather than a personal account type.
If you would like to open a business account, you would need to visit any TD Store during lobby hours. To take a look at TD Stores and their hours please visit http://bit.ly/TDStores.
Take a look here: http://bit.ly/1lWgAhe to view the different types of Business accounts we offer. As a feature on our webpage, TD Bank can also help by recommending an account for your needs with the Business Checking Selector Tool found here: http://bit.ly/1lGeYmw. If you have any questions while reviewing these options, a Business Banking Specialist would be happy to assist you over the telephone. You can reach them by dialing 855-278-8988.
Once you've found the account you'd like to open, it will be required for you and all signers to stop into a TD location to complete the opening process. You will need to bring the following with you: a valid photo ID (Driver's License, Passport, Military ID, etc.) and your Social Security number. For a non-resident aliens opening a business account, you will need two valid forms of ID and a W-8Ben must be completed during the account opening process. Be sure to bring the Tax Identification number for your business.
Depending on the type of business you have, additional documents may be required at the time of account opening and we encourage you to call you preferred Store before visiting to ensure that you'll have everything needed.
We also notice that you're writing to us from Canada. If this is in regards to your TD Canada Trust account, we recommend reaching out to them directly. You are able to visit the Canadian TD Helps page here: http://go.td.com/1QBOF4U. Once you submit your question, our friends on the Canadian TD Helps Team will be sure to provide their best answer.
You are also able to reach out to a Representative directly. To take a look at their contact options please visit here: http://go.td.com/1woOVay.
We hope this helps, Donna and have a good day.
