Hi Nadine, we appreciate you considering TD Bank and joining us on TD Helps.
Here at TD Bank, we offer many different types of Checking accounts. Prior to opening an account we encourage you to view and compare our checking accounts, visit http://bit.ly/1qKGu4T or check out our Checking Selector Tool http://bit.ly/1vW1xnU for help selecting a checking account that is the best fit you. To view and compare savings account products, click on http://bit.ly/1pJT9I9, or if you prefer, we also have a Savings Selector Tool http://bit.ly/1vW1DvM which can help you choose the best savings account for your needs.
There are several ways to open an account with us: online, over the phone, or in person. The documents that you will need to open the account are the following: Your Social Security number and ID (driver's license, State ID, or Passport).
To open a personal account, you may apply Online by visiting www.tdbank.com , by selecting the "Apply" option under the account type you wish to open. To make a first deposit online, you may use a debit card linked to an account from another financial institution, a credit card (Visa or MasterCard) or you can stop by your local TD Store to make a deposit. To open the account over the phone, you may call us directly 24/7 at 888-751-9000. Finally, you have the option of visiting us at your local TD Store to open an account. If you choose this option, you will need to make an initial deposit to the account you selected. There would not be a minimum requirement to open the account; however, some accounts have requirements in order to have certain fees waived. We would encourage you to review the link above prior to visiting a Store. For hours and locations near you, take a look here: http://bit.ly/TDStores.
If you are planning on changing banks, you may find our Easy Switch Checklist to help you navigate the process. Check out http://bit.ly/1nEm90e to see this easy-to-follow guide
Please stop by again with any other questions and enjoy your day Nadine!
