I am an American Citizen currently living in Costa Rica though with only Tourist Status for now. My bank in the US keeps trying to get rid of me for not residing in the US. I have no living relatives or friends in the US so no help there. So far I have run into only banks wanting me to physically present with a State ID. I have only my Passport and a Veterans Administration ID. My entire income comes from Social Security Retirement by direct deposit. Also I have just a single Debit card and no other. A bit risky were it to be lost, stolen or damaged. I have no need nor desire for any credit card, only debit. And I would dearly not like to have to come to the US to accomplish this. Also without a drivers license. If a doable thing I will open an account ASAP. I should mention that we have no addresses. Delivery of mail is not an option. Only UPS or FedEx. As a Tourist I cannot make contracts, meaning I cannot rent a P.O. Box which would be two hours travel if I did. But can describe delivery directions, even GPS location.

Hi there Ronald,
We appreciate your message to us and thank you for considering TD! We hope you're enjoying your time in Costa Rica so far.
To open an account with us either by phone or using our online option, we would require you to provide a U.S. address (within or outside our footprint in the U.S., depending on the method you chose). With that being said, given the information you provided to us we would require you to visit us at a TD Bank Store to start your account. We understand that this is not your preferred option at this time and we apologize for the inconvenience this causes you.
If you will be visiting the States at any point and decide to establish an account, we highly recommend contacting the Store you prefer to visit ahead of time to ensure you'll have all the required documentation. A listing of our Stores can be found here: http://bit.ly/TDStores.
If you'll be doing so, in case you'd like to review them please find our available Checking account options here: http://bit.ly/1oXjGgF, or use our checking selector at http://bit.ly/1vW1xnU. And our Savings products are listed here: http://bit.ly/1hzzhPT, or use our savings selector at http://bit.ly/1sxY9Rd.
We wish you the best of luck with your account, Ronald.
Please let us know about any other questions and have a great evening.
