Once you have decided on the account(s) you'd like to open, as you are currently in California, you may open the account via telephone by contacting our 24/7 Customer Service line at 888-751-9000. One of our Banking Specialists can open the account for you at any time of the day. During the account opening, please be sure to have your ID handy as will be needed.
If by chance you'll be traveling to the East Coast anywhere between Florida and Maine, you could also open a checking account at any of our Stores. Please visit here: http://bit.ly/TDStores to find a location near you.
If you wish, you can also add your daughter as a joint signer on your account(s). If your daughter is planning a visit and you both are able to visit a TD Store, please bring a valid photo ID and any one of our Banking Specialists would be happy to help! Once your daughter is added as an authorized signer, she than can obtain a TD Debit card and use the card when she is in Vancouver.
If you'll be visiting your daughter in Vancouver, you have the option of opening a joint account with our friends at TD Canada Trust. Once the joint account opens, you can than utilize TD Cross Border to initiate a wire transfer to transfer funds between your TD US account and TD Canada Trust account. We invite you to check out: http://bit.ly/1FbGgyS for details on how to open a joint account up North and here: http://bit.ly/1ishIab.
For recommendations on the best way to open a TD Canada Trust and/or TD US account, we invite you to reach to our Cross Border Banking Specialists at 877-700-2913, 24/7.
