a direct deposit was set up but a number was missing from the account number. Does TD Bank make sure the the account number belongs to the name on the account before funds are deposited into the account? don't want to see some getting a deposit that does not belong to them........

We understand your concern and we'd be glad to point you in the right direction.
Though we do verify the account number and routing number in regards to direct deposits, we recommend reaching out to us directly as you mentioned your account number was entered incorrectly.
You are able to call our Banking Specialists 24/7 at 888-751-9000. After account verification, our Banking Specialists will be glad to confer with our ACH Department to determine possible options for you. Please know that our ACH Department is available Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:30 am and 5:00 pm.
