Welcome to TD Helps. We would be happy to help!
As a TD Canada Trust Account holder, you will have free access to all TD ATMs, in both the US and Canada.
However; although TD Canada Trust is under the TD umbrella with TD Bank in the US, you would not be able to visit a Bank here in the states to do your banking.
Since you planning on moving to the US and are interested in opening an account with TD Bank, we appreciate the consideration and would be happy to help. You can open an account with us via online, over the phone or at any TD Bank location during lobby hours. Please visit: http://bit.ly/TDStores to find a TD Bank near you. If you choose to open an account with us via online, we encourage you to check out the different accounts that we currently offer. Click here: http://bit.ly/Wczmq0 for a list of checking accounts and here: http://bit.ly/1l6nLQ7 for savings accounts. You can get a personalized checking account recommendation by clicking here: http://bit.ly/1vW1xnU and here: http://bit.ly/1vW1DvM for a personalized savings account recommendation. Once you have decided on the account(s) that you'd like to open, click on the "Open Account" button underneath the account type. You can always contact our 24/7 Customer Service line at 888-751-9000 and one of our Representatives can open the account(s) for you. Please keep in mind that you will need your foreign Passport along with 2 forms of identification: driver's license, State ID, or US Passport to complete the account opening process.
After the account(s) are opened, you can then inquire about the benefits of our Cross Border Banking. One of the benefits to having both a TD Bank and TD Canada Trust account is being able to transfer funds between your accounts for free! Please visit http://bit.ly/1ienPN4 for more information on Cross Border Banking. You can also contact a Cross Border Banking Specialist 24/7 at (877) 700-2913 (press 1 for Canadian Support, 2 for US Support). A dedicated Cross Boarder Banking Specialist can assist you in making the transfer.
You also mentioned using your Credit Card here in the US, we invite you to take a look here: http://bit.ly/15PjT41, our friend, Sharif from up North, answered a similar question that may help. If you have any further questions regarding your TD Canada Trust Account or Credit cards, or you can feel free to ask them by using the link above to submit a new question.
We hope this helps and have a great one! Let us know if you have any other questions.
