Saving & Managing Your Money

Happy Monday to you, Lexi, and thanks for bringing us your question! Hope you had a great weekend.
It's our pleasure to tell you more about our current checking products. To answer your question, most of our personal checking accounts have a standard monthly maintenance fee that can be avoided by keeping a minimum daily balance. We have a great page that you can check out here: https://go.td.com/2sx4N2E which will help you narrow down the best type of account for your banking needs – just choose "Checking" when you get to that page. You can also use this page: https://go.td.com/1aDaRqd to see all of our checking products at once. When looking at any of our products, feel free to take advantage of the "View account guide" link below each type of account and you will be able to see the daily balance requirement and any fees that apply to that account.
In case you're checking out business accounts with us rather than personal ones, please take a look here: https://go.td.com/1lWgAhe.
If you don't bank with us yet and you're interested, we'd love to have you! You can use the pages above to open any new personal account, as long as you're located in our footprint from Maine to Florida. You're also welcome to call us anytime 24/7 at 888-751-9000 to get started over the phone, or stop in and see us! We'd love to meet you at any of our Stores listed here: https://go.td.com/2vut2Me.
Just in case you already bank with us, Lexi, and you're considering a different type of account, we hope you'll give us a call or stop in and we'd be glad to make sure you have the right type of account for your banking needs. You are welcome to change the type of account you have to another (as long as it's a checking to another checking account, for example) without closing your current account. This will allow you to keep the same account number. If you know the product that you'd like to change your account to, another quick and easy option would be to send us a Secure Message via Online or Mobile Banking. To send a secure message using Online Banking, please sign in here: http://go.td.com/1eaISlq and select 'Send a secure message' located in the 'Message Center' on the left hand side of the page. For Mobile Banking, select the option to 'Contact Us' followed by 'Send a secure message' after signing in. In your message, please be sure to include the last four digits of your account number and the product type you're interested in having.
Let us know if you have any other questions – just click the 'Reply' button to chat with us again! Hope you have a great afternoon.
