It is a pleasure to have you here on TD Helps, Manny.
We are sorry to hear that you want to close your accounts with us and would like to let you know that we are committed to your satisfaction as a Customer. If you have any questions or concerns about your banking experiences, we invite you to discuss them with us at a TD Store. We're available near you and would like to hear from you.
We'd also like to share with you that we offer a range of bank accounts to meet customer needs, if this was your concern. You are always welcome to change the type of account by calling our live customer service anytime, 24/7 at 888-751-9000. Before you call, you're welcome to review our product selection. Please click here: http://bit.ly/1vW1xnU for our Checking Account Selector, or here: http://bit.ly/1sxY9Rd for our Savings Account Selector, to ensure you have the best account type for you.
If still wish to close your accounts, we understand and would be glad to provide options. To answer you specific question, there are no fees for closing an account with funds. To close an account with funds, we do ask that you visit your local TD Store here: http://bit.ly/TDStores or you can mail in a written request. You may request to close your account and have any available money in your account be sent to you by check. You can mail a request with the following instructions:
▪Your account number(s)
▪Your request to close the account(s)
▪Your current address
For your security, please have the letter notarized. It can then be mailed to:
TD Bank, N.A
P.O. Box 1377
You also have the option of removing the funds from your accounts than requesting to close your accounts. There are various ways to bring your account balance to zero. If you are in the TD Bank footprint, please feel free to stop in to withdraw your funds and speak with a Representative and they will be able to assist you with a closeout request. .
If you are out of the TD Bank footprint you may also use a local ATM to withdraw funds from your account. If your account is a Checking with a Visa debit card, you can also opt to visit a bank in your area to request a cash advance of your funds. We encourage you to check out our current fee schedule, http://bit.ly/1cTejgt, as it outlines any applicable fees that may come into play when you use your ATM debit card at a non-TD ATM.
Once the account balance is zero, you can contact a friendly Customer Service Representative to request that the account be closed at 888-751-9000.
If you're currently enrolled for online banking, you can also send us a secure online message to request to close your account after the balance is zero. Please log in to your account here: http://bit.ly/1eaISlq and once logged in, visit the Customer Service tab. The "Send a Message" link will be available there for you to make your request.
Please note, an account closing request generally takes 2-3 business days to be completed. Again, with any of the options listed above, you will not be charged any fees for closing a deposit account.
Don't hesitate to ask us more questions if you have any. Take care!
