Good Day, Tara!
We apologize as you are experiencing difficulties with your debit card.
Typically if there is an unusual purchase attempt that is not in your normal spending history, TD Bank will attempt to reach out to you and confirm if the purchase was attempted by you. If we are unable to reach you at that time, we will place a temporary hold on your debit card. Once you confirm the purchase attempt we will be able to remove the hold from your card. This may also occur if the merchant or terminal has had previous fraud.
Here at TD Bank Security is important to us, and we are here to safeguard your account in the event that fraud may occur.
There could also be several reasons why your debit card was declined. Example: invalid CVV code, invalid transaction type, insufficient funds, etc.
So we may best assist you with your debit card concerns, we recommend contacting us directly. Our Banking Specialists can be reached 24/7 at 888-751-9000. You also have the option of sending us a secured message from your online banking profile to inquire further. To send a secure message you must first login to your TD Bank online profile. You can do so by clicking here: https://go.td.com/1eaISlq. On the left hand side, you should see an option to 'Send a secure message' located in the 'Message Center.'
As always you can visit your local TD Bank Store for assistance with your debit card. To take a look at Store locations and their hours please visit http://go.td.com/1f9DSJR.
We hope this helps, Tara. Have a great day!
