I'm planning a winter trip. Can I use a debit card from your bank to make cash ATM withdrawals in the countries of Colombia and Ecuador, Costa Rica and Nicaragua? If this service is available, what fees are involved from TD Bank, and how can I identify an ATM which will accept your card?

Good afternoon, Michael. Welcome to TD Helps. We would be happy to help.
We'd like to share with you that cards bearing the Visa logo are accepted at locations all over the world. However, please be sure to carry more than one method of payment while traveling, just in case you encounter any acceptance issues. Please note; fees may apply when using a non-TD ATM. We encourage you to check out our current fee schedule, http://bit.ly/1cTejgt, as it outlines any applicable fees that may come into play when you use your ATM debit card out of the country.
We'd also like to share with you a few tips to manage your money when traveling, please check out: http://bit.ly/1fO8wKy, you may also want to review our international travel tips frequently asked questions by clicking here: http://bit.ly/1ltwDDc.
Additionally, to avoid any interruptions to your TD Debit Card usage, we recommend placing Travel Notifications on your account(s). If you have not already done so, you can do so by calling our 24/7 Customer Service Line at 888-751-9000. If you're setup for online banking, another option would be sending a secured message using www.tdbank.com and requesting Travel Notifications to be added to your account(s). To send a secured message, you must first log on to your TD Bank online profile. You can do so by clicking here: http://bit.ly/1eaISlq. After you log in, on the left hand side, you should see an option to "Send a secure message" located in the “Message Center”. Please be sure to provide your travel dates and destinations in your message.
By placing a travel notification, this will help us be aware if we see foreign transactions on your account. Also, please be informed that for your protection we will continue to monitor your card activity even when a notification is set. We also recommend carrying more than one method of payment while traveling, just in case you encounter any acceptance issues.
If you are not set up for Online Banking, please visit here: http://bit.ly/1lU2qfY. Keep in mind that you will need your account number, Social Security number and ATM/debit card handy to complete the enrollment process. If you do not have the required information to set up for Online Banking or you need assistance enrolling, you may contact us 24/7 at 1-800-493-7562 to speak with a Digital Banking Specialist. Upon proper account verification, we would be happy to help get you started.
Additionally, if you need to call us while you're outside the United States you may do so by dialing 856-751-9000 or collect with operator's assistance from a land line phone by asking the operator to dial 215-569-0518.
We hope this helps Michael. Have a great winter vacation and let us know if you have any other questions.
