I'm a Canadian resident with a cross-border account with TD. I have received my bank card and PIN.
I havent activated it yet (6 months) since I havent been in the US,
I am visting Las Vegas next month. Can I simply use it at any ATM in the Visa network?
Should I pre-activate before I go (how?). Do I need to call you before I leave? What number?

Good morning, Bill, and welcome to TD Helps!
It's great to hear from one of our Cross Border Banking Customers, and we'll be more than happy to answer any questions or concerns you may have.
First, as you mentioned that you currently have a debit card in your possession for your TD Bank account that hasn't yet been activated; we invite you to call 1-866-392-9952 to do so! This number is specific to our Cross Border Banking Customers as it will allow you to activate your TD Bank Debit Card without providing a Social Security Number. Just in case you have a Social Security Number in the United States, you call 888-553-4122 to activate your card instead.
We'd like to recommend that you activate your card before your trip to Las Vegas, Nevada, just in case you may need to use your card for any purchases during your travels!
Once your card has been activated, we're happy to announce that TD Bank Debit Cards can be used anywhere Visa is accepted; however, please know that depending on your account type, you may be assessed a fee for any ATM withdrawals that are not performed at a TD Bank ATM. Additionally, as you'll be traveling, we'd also like to highly recommend that you contact us at least one week before you leave to ensure that a travel notification has been successfully added to your account. You have a couple different ways in which you're able to contact us, and we'll be happy to provide you with all your options!
First, you're welcome to call 1-856-751-9000, toll free, to speak with one of our Banking Specialist, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Once on the phone, they'll be more than happy to notate your account.

Once you have successfully logged in, towards the right hand side of your screen, you should see 'Your Secure Messages', and within the section, you can send a Specialist a secure message by clicking the 'Send us a secure message' link. Once here, you can select a subject from the drop down box, and then prefill in your travel information! We recommend including your travel destinations as well as the dates you'll be visiting, as this information will be needed to successfully place your travel note.
