Thank you for your interest in an account with TD! We'd be glad to help!
In order to open an account with us, you will need to visit us at a TD Bank Store. To take a look at TD Stores and their hours please visit http://bit.ly/TDStores.
We offer many different types of checking and savings accounts. To view and compare our checking accounts, visit http://bit.ly/1aDaRqd or check out our Checking Selector Tool http://bit.ly/1vW1xnU for help with selecting a checking account.
To view and compare savings account products, click on http://bit.ly/1pJT9I9 , or if you prefer, we also have a Savings Selector Tool http://bit.ly/1vW1DvM which can help you choose the best savings account for your needs.
Once you are ready to visit a Store, as a Non-US resident you will need to bring two forms of identification with you. One form of ID must be a Non-US passport and the second form of ID you may select from the list below:
- Employment ID with Photo and Signature
- State Issued ID or Driver's License with Signature
- Foreign Driver's License with Photo
- US Employment Authorization card with Photo, Signature and Expiration Date
- College ID with Photo
- Alien Registration Card with Photo
- Permanent Resident Card with Photo
Please know that if your son is a minor and you plan to open an account for him, you will need valid I.D. for him as well. Acceptable forms of identification for minors include; School ID (preferably with a picture), Passport, US Birth Certificate or Social Security Card. If your son is not a minor, he will need two forms of I.D. mentioned above and be present for the account opening process.
We also recommend reaching out to the TD Store you plan to visit prior to your trip to determine if there are any other documents required for the account opening process.
As you've mentioned being concerned about the length of your visit, feel free to call the TD Store in advance to set an appointment to open your accounts. You are also able to call our Banking Specialists 24/7 from outside the U.S. by dialing 856-751-9000 or 215-569-0518 collect from a land line telephone. They will also be glad to set an appointment for you.
We hope this information helps and have a good day!
