Happy Friday, Jotinderjit. Thanks for bringing your question to TD Helps today.
In the event that you write a check that is drawn off a closed account, please don't worry! We completely understand that mistakes can happen, and you're welcome to write your payee another check from a valid account and disregard the previously written check.
The check that was written off your closed account will be returned, and if your payee presented this check to their financial institution for payment, no further action will need to be taken as their institution will discard of your check appropriately. In the event that your payee deposited their check into their account in a way that they still have the check in their possession, such as a Mobile Deposit, they may then simply discard this item themselves, or return it to you for you to discard in whichever method you deem best.
If you have any questions at all, or if you'd like to discuss this further, you're always welcome to call and speak with a Banking Specialist or visit a TD Store location. Banking Specialists are available 24/7 at 1-888-751-9000, and we invite you to take a look at this link http://go.td.com/1f9DSJR for our Store locations and their hours.
Thanks again for stopping by, Jotinderjit. Have a great weekend!
