Please note that in order to open a business account, the account signer(s) must visit a TD Bank Store and be present for the account opening process along with the following documents: a valid photo I.D. For a non-resident opening a business account, you will need two valid forms of ID and a W-8Ben must be completed during the account opening process. Also, be sure to bring the Tax Identification Number for your business.
We encourage you to contact your local TD Store prior to your visit to make sure that other documents are not needed for the account opening process.

Hello, Thank you for this answer. I have a very related question.
My situation is the same: I'm a Canadian company, do business with TD Canada Trust, and want to set up a business checking account in the US with TD Bank. I understand based on the answer above that only personal accounts can be opened over the phone for Canadians as cross-border clients, but business accounts have to be opened in person and the signer needs to bring the IDs and documents mentioned above to the branch.
My question is: can you (TD Bank in the US) open the business account if I present in person at a TD Canada Trust branch and give them all the documents/ID needed, or do I have to make a trip to the US to have the account opened. Thank you for your help.
