Thanks for writing us at TD Helps, Jason. You came to the right place for information on how your friend can send you funds electronically! No matter which methods you choose your friend will not be able to view your account balance.
If your friend has a TD Bank account, they can use the Person-to-Person feature offered via Online Banking. This feature will allow your friend to send you money via text or email by creating a contact. To use this feature, one must be enrolled in Online Banking. If your friend has not enrolled in Online Banking, they can do so for free here: http://bit.ly/1lU2qfY. To get the enrollment process started, they will need their Social Security number, TD Bank ATM/Visa Debit Card, account number, and their e-mail address. If there is no ATM/Debit card available, please have your friend contact us at 800-493-7562 to speak with a Digital Specialist, 24/7 or please visit us during lobby hours for further assistance. For hours and locations near you please take a look at: http://bit.ly/TDStores.
Once your friend has successfully enrolled for Online Banking, please select the “Person-to-Person” tab to enroll for this feature. To use this feature you must have a US address and cell phone number, a US Social Security number and a valid e-mail address. Transfers cannot be made outside of the U.S. and must be in U.S. currency. For the Terms and Conditions in addition to information on the requirements, payment methods and amounts, please check http://bit.ly/1pADlWD.
If your friend does not have TD Bank, you, as a TD Bank customer, will have the option of requesting money from your friend by using the Person-to-Person feature by simply selecting the "Request Money" tab under the "Person-to-Person" tab after you log in.
Additionally, if your friend does not have an account at TD Bank, he or she has the option of initiating a wire transfer. Information needed to initiate this transfer depends on how the funds are being sent, whether it is US dollars or foreign currency. To send a domestic wire you will need the name, address and ABA routing number of the receiving bank, the name of the account to be credited, the beneficiary address and the account number. To send an international wire in US Dollars, please provide the following information; Wire to: TD Bank, N.A. Wilmington, Delaware. ABA: 0311-0126-6. Your complete name as it appears on your account, along with your account number. For Foreign Currency transfers being sent to TD Bank, you'll need to provide the instructions as follows: Correspondent Bank SWIFT Code: TDOMCATTTOR. Correspondent Bank: The Toronto Dominion Bank, Toronto, Ontario, Canada, M5k 1A2. Beneficiary Bank SWIFT Code: NRTHUS33XXX. Beneficiary Bank: TD Bank, N.A. 6000 Atrium Way, Mt Laurel, NJ 08054.
Keep in mind also that depending on the currency you are sending, some transactions may take longer than others. You may want to contact the other financial institution to determine what information they require to receive the wire. Please see the following link for all applicable fees included in our fee schedule: http://bit.ly/1cTejgt. And please note that we do not process or disburse funds from wire transfers received designated Pay Upon Proper Identification (PUPID) and return them to the sender.
Thanks again for visiting us, Jason. Let us know if you have any other questions and have a great day.
Brian M., Mount Laurel
