Do minors need a legal guardian to open an account? Or can they be any adult with some relation to the minor?

At this time, you must be at least 18 years of age to open an individual Checking account with TD Bank. If you are under the age of 18, and wish to open an account, we do ask that an adult accompanies you at any of your local TD Bank Store locations to open a joint Checking account. Please be sure to bring a valid form of ID such as a State License, State ID or Passport during your visit to insure that the account may be opened at the time of your visit. Acceptable forms of ID for minors include; School ID (preferably with a picture), Passport, US Birth Certificate or Social Security Card.
