Thank you for joining us on TD Helps, Steven. We're happy to help!
Money orders are very similar to checks in that if they are lost or stolen, action can be taken to prevent any loss of funds. In order to place a stop payment or replace a lost money order, your daughter would have to visit the TD Store that the original money order was issued. The Customer Service Representative that she speaks with will first confirm that the money order was not processed and then place a stop payment. After the stop payment is in place on the original money order, a new one can be issued in 24 hours.
We hope this information helps both you and your daughter and have a great day.

Great question and welcome to TD Helps today, E! Thanks for reaching out to us.
If you are the purchaser of the money order issued through TD Bank and the item has not yet been paid, you may place a stop payment it. In order to do so, you're welcome to stop in at any TD Bank Store during lobby hours as found here: http://bit.ly/TDStores. A fee may apply and if so, take a look at our current Fee Schedule for additional information: http://bit.ly/1cTejgt. Please bring the money order number, amount, date and Payee information, which can be found on your money order receipt.
When you visit a Store, the Representative will first ensure that the money order hasn't been paid, and will then complete a form with you to request the stop payment. If the stop payment can be placed, you'll be able to obtain a replacement money order on the following business day, and deposit it to your account at that time to recover the funds. Kindly keep in mind that a stop payment for a money order issued by TD Bank must be placed at a Store and cannot be made using the usual methods for other checks you may have written.
If you have any questions at all, just give us a ring 24/7 at 888-751-9000!
Hope this helps you, E and have a terrific weekend!
