I placed an online order and used the full balance on the TD Visa gift card. The retailer was not able to fulfill the purchase, and I'm worried that since the balance is zero and the status shows "closed" that it will not allow them to refund the card for the purchase.

If a merchant has issued a refund to your TD Bank Visa Gift Card, you can expect the funds to be returned to your account within five business days from the date that the refund was issued.
To confirm this has been completed, you can call Customer Service 24/7 at 888-294-2249 to retrieve your gift card balance and check the recent transactions on your card. If you've registered your card online, you can also log in at http://bit.ly/1vlaGLm to make sure the refund has arrived.
If you haven't yet registered your card, feel free to follow the above link, and enter the first six digits of your gift card to begin the process.
