My father sent me a bank draft in 25,000 CAD to me in the US towards purchasing a house. I need to reverse the bank draft and have him wire the funds in USD instead. I am unable to mail back the bank draft because of customs laws about mailing amounts larger than 10,000 CAD. Can we just stop the bank draft and redeposit the funds in his account for him to wire?

Thank you for reaching out to us on TD Helps, Geneffa. We'd be happy to assist you.
Based on your question, it sounds as though your father banks with TD Canada Trust. As he was the maker of the bank draft, we recommend you share this link with him: http://bit.ly/1AwiT22. Our friend, Jami Lyn has answered a similar question to yours on the Canadian TD Helps page that you may find useful. If you would like to ask your own question, you may submit it through the link provided and our friends across the border will be happy to answer.
If your father does not bank with TD Canada Trust, we recommend that he speaks with his institution in regard to placing a stop payment on the bank draft.
We hope this helps, Geneffa and have a good day.
