To add a signer to an existing TD Bank Checking or Savings account, both the account holder(s) and the prospective signer would have to visit a TD Store and speak with a Customer Service Representative. Please make sure to bring proper identification (Driver's License, State issued photo ID, Passport, etc.) and Social Security number.
If this in in regards to a TD Credit Card, you would have to contact us directly by dialing 888-561-8861. Our Credit Card Specialist would be happy to help!

Good question and thanks for joining our conversations here on TD Helps.
Our personal deposit accounts, such as Checking or Savings accounts, may have four owners. For a business account, any number of signers may be listed. Also, you're welcome to add a minor to an existing account. If you would like to add an owner to account, the new owner can visit any TD Bank Store with you to complete the proper documentation. Each signer must be able to provide their date of birth, Social Security number if applicable, and valid identification. Acceptable forms of identification for minors include a School ID (preferably with a picture), Passport, US Birth Certificate or Social Security card.

We're glad to inform you that adding additional users to your TD Bank Visa Credit Card as joint card holders will allow the card and its credit history to be reported to the credit bureaus under their names as well as your own. This may help in developing their credit profile for the future. Also, please know that if you already have a credit card established in your name, you would be able to add your son or daughter as joint card holders even if they are still currently minors.
We recommend you call our 24/7 TD Card Service representatives at 888-561-8861 and they will be more than happy to go over the process to add a card holder or answer any additional questions you may have.

Thank you for your quick response. But I am a little confused by the designations being used. I see both authorized users and joint cardholders being used. Are authorized users the same as joint cardholders? If I add my neice as an authorized user, is that the same as a joint cardholder? I apologize for my lack of understanding, so any clarification would help.

We'd like to let you know that authorized users and joint card holders are one in the same. If you were to add your niece as an authorized user, she would have access to the credit limit established on your credit card.

To add a signer to an existing TD Checking or Savings account, both the account holder(s) and prospective signers would have to visit a TD Store to speak with a Representative in person. Adding a signer cannot be completed online at this time for security reasons and we apologize if this causes any inconvenience.
Please make sure to bring proper identification (Driver's License, State issued photo ID, Passport, etc.) and Social Security number.
