Good question, John and thank you for coming to TD Helps on this lovely day.
You'll be happy to learn that you can certainly add another signer to your existing TD deposit account. With this being said, there is no need to close your current account and open a new one.
In order to add another individual to your existing TD account, we invite both of you visit us at any TD Bank Store location near you, during lobby hours. Please visit: http://bit.ly/TDStores to find TD Bank near you. Please make sure both parties, including you, bring the following documents: a valid photo I.D. (Driver's License, Passport, Military I.D. etc.) and Social Security number.
If you have any additional questions, please feel free to reach out to our Banking Specialists 24/7 at 888-751-9000. We hope this helps and enjoy your weekend, John!
