Welcome back, Sam!
At this time ATM cards that do not bear the VISA logo can only be used to make ATM withdrawals and balance inquiries regardless if they are linked to a savings or a checking account. Cards that bear the VISA logo can only be linked to a checking account.
If you do not have a checking account with us already, we invite you to take a look at our wide variety of checking accounts found here: http://bit.ly/1dbAcWh. You can even get a personalized recommendation by using our Checking Selector Tool found here: http://bit.ly/1hQscMj.
Individuals who are under the age of 18 qualify to open a joint checking account with an adult by visiting any TD Store. We can even issue a VISA debit card at the time of account opening as long as a joint account is opened and if verbal consent of the accompanying adult is given.
If you are 18 years of age, you may open the account via Online, by selecting the "Open Account" box, over the phone, available 24/7 at 1-888-751-9000, or you could visit us during lobby hours. For lobby hours and locations near you please visit http://bit.ly/TDStores.
If you're wary about opening a checking account, that's ok! We offer the TD Go Card which is a great stepping stone to a checking account. For more information, please take a look here: http://bit.ly/1d2j6OJ.
We hope this helps, Sam and we hope to hear from you again soon.
