Can I cash a check for more than my account balance

Thanks for connecting with us here on TD Helps, Kevin. We'd be happy to review some of the best options on how you may cash your check.
You can cash the check without depositing it if it is drawn from TD Bank. If not, you can cash the check against your account, but the funds must be available in your account until the check clears.
You may also deposit the check into your account with one of our Tellers at any TD Bank Store. If you have been with TD Bank longer than 30 days, you will have $100 dollars available instantly and the remaining amount will clear at the earliest the following business day. If you have been with the bank less than 30 days, it can take 7-10 business days to clear and for the funds to be fully available.
If you'd prefer, you can make an ATM deposit at one of our TD Bank locations. Deposits made through the ATM prior to 8:00 PM will be available the next banking day. Deposits made through the ATM after 8:00 PM will be considered the next business day and post the following business day. Any ATM transaction made after 8:00pm on Friday is Monday’s banking day and will post Tuesday morning. Any deposits made on a federal holiday will be processed on the following business day. The first $100.00 of your daily ATM deposits (cash or check) is immediately available for accounts opened 90 days or greater. An ATM deposit made on Saturday will be considered Monday's banking day, and funds will generally be available Tuesday morning.
We recommend reviewing our Personal Deposit Account Agreement http://bit.ly/1kb17UQ for you to view for more information. On pages 35-37 you can find our Funds Availability Policy along with information about when you'll have access to deposits.
Thanks again, Kevin for visiting us today and please stop by again anytime. We hope this has been helpful!
