My husband was in a car accident riding with a friend a few months ago. He obtain and lawyer and the insurance company settled. They issued him a check for $4000+ after medical expenses were taken out. But my husband doesn't have an account or ID to cash his check. His mom passed away when he was very young. So, we have been unable to locate a birth certificate for him in DC, MD, or VA vital records although he has a DC SSN. But a birth certificate and ssc is needed to get an ID. A ID is needed to open a bank account. All we have is his ssc and a Dept.of Corrections ID. I have a current account with TD.
