I would like to switch my personal account, which is currently a premier account, to a convenience account. Can I do this without any penalties?

Here at TD Bank, we understand that things are always changing, and in the event that you need to change your account type, you're more than welcome to do so, free of charge!
As you're already aware of the account type you'd like to now take advantage of, we invite you to connect with us in whichever method you find the most convenient. Once you have done so, we'll be happy to assist you with this change.
You're first welcome to connect with one of our Banking Specialist over the phone. For your convenience, they're here to help 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and can be reached by simply dialing 1-888-751-9000. If you'd prefer, you may also visit your nearest TD Store location, during lobby hours, to speak with a Customer Service Representative. To take a look at Store locations and their hours, please visit http://go.td.com/1f9DSJR.
If you're unable to call or visit a TD Store location, that's okay, as you may always send us a secure message! To send a secure message, you will first want to log into your TD Bank online profile by clicking here: https://go.td.com/1eaISlq. Once you've successfully logged in, towards the right hand side of your screen, you should see a 'Your Secure Messages' section. To send a message, simply click 'Send us a secure message.'
If you have downloaded our mobile banking app for your smartphone, you may also use this method to send a secure message. From your Mobile Banking, log in and select 'Send a Secure Message' from the side Menu. We generally respond within 24 hours or less.
If you decide that you'd like to send your request via a secure message, please be sure to provide you full account number, as well as the account type, in your message. This information will be needed to successfully process your request.
