I made a mistake taking out a couple of payday loans. now I am working with a company to help me consolidate them and they advised me to close out the current account and open one where the lenders would have no access, This way the money I send for the consolidation only goes to them

We understand your concern and we'd be glad to help!
As long as your current account is in good standing, you are able to open a new account at any time!
First, we recommend taking a look at the accounts we have to offer. You are able to take a look at checking accounts here: https://go.td.com/2eQORxu and savings accounts here: https://go.td.com/2dIcnAw.
If you're having trouble choosing an account, you are able to use our Checking Selector Tool here: https://go.td.com/KmmHe7 and our Savings Selector here: https://go.td.com/1hXi2wF for a custom recommendation.
Once you're ready to open an account, you are able to do so online by selecting "Open Account," by calling us 24/7 at 888-751-9000 or by visiting any TD Store. To take a look at Store locations and their hours please visit http://go.td.com/1f9DSJR.
Please know regardless of the method you choose, you will need a Social Security Number and a valid photo I.D. (Driver's License, Passport, Military I.D. etc.).
We hope this helps and have a wonderful weekend!
