In reply to June, Killarney
Hello, June and thanks for bringing your question! We're glad to see you and hope all is well in Killarney.
You can certainly deposit a Canadian check into your TD Bank US account, although a foreign check will need to be deposited with a teller. We invite you to review some helpful information we have listed below before making this deposit.
Prior to reading on, we'd also like to mention that if you're a Customer of TD Canada Trust, you may want to take a look at: http://bit.ly/1yhhprk for instructions to use your iPhone for a mobile deposit for your account there. And if you have additional questions, you can find all the ways to connect with TD Canada Trust at http://bit.ly/1K7XCyl.
Regarding your deposit of a foreign check to TD Bank within the US,
The international check must have an equivalent value of at least $100.00 U.S. Dollars.
Rates used for currency conversion are provided by TD Bank traders. We do not use rates printed by third parties in newspapers or published online.
For your protection, the item should be hand delivered to a Store and not mailed. Please do not deposit foreign checks by using the ATM or via Mobile Deposit.
The conversion rate applied will be on the day the check is received in the Foreign Check Collection department. Additionally, fees may apply for the deposit of a foreign item. If you'll be depositing the check to a personal account with TD Bank, please take a look at our current Fee Schedule here: http://bit.ly/1cTejgt.
Please note, that there are exceptions that may cause delays in funds availability. We invite you to look at our Deposit Account Agreement here for personal accounts: http://bit.ly/1kb17UQ. On pages 38-41 you can find our Funds Availability Policy along with information about when you'll have access to deposits. For foreign check deposit funds availability, please refer directly to page 41 for additional information.
If you have any additional questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us 24/7 at 888-751-9000 or stop by any of the TD Store locations in your area. To find out TD Store locations near you, please visit: http://bit.ly/TDStores.
We hope this will help with your deposit, June and have a fantastic year!
