Hello Thomas, we're so sorry to about your mother and would be glad to help answer your question.
In the unfortunate event of a Customer’s death, it is important for TD Bank to assist the family and/or the Executor/Administrator with anything we can. An Executor or an Administrator of a decedent’s estate may access their account and handle appropriate affairs relating to their assets.
As it sounds like your mother may not have been an Authorized Signer on your account, we recommend reaching out to your nearest TD Bank Store for assistance in determining if you are able to deposit a check made payable to her. If you are the Executor or Administrator of her estate, then you may need to bring some documentation in with you in order to deposit this check.
Please feel free to drop by or give a call to your local TD Bank and speak with one of our Representatives to discuss this matter further. For a list of TD Stores, please visit: http://bit.ly/TDStores.
Let us know if this helps answer your question and take care!
