While the mobile deposit feature in our app does not allow for depositing U.S. Savings Bonds, Series I and EE/E are able to be redeemed in person at any of our Stores during lobby hours. To find a TD Bank Store near you, please click here: https://go.td.com/1nq31dc.
There are a couple of requirements for cashing a U.S. Savings Bond that we want to make you aware of prior to your visit. First, bonds must be held for a minimum of 12 months from their issue date before they are eligible for redemption. Also, government regulations require that non-Customers or Customers who have been with their bank 6 months or less can only redeem up to $1,000 at any one time. Please be sure to bring valid photo ID with you. Finally, we want to make you aware that when you redeem a Series EE or I savings bond, you are responsible for claiming the interest gained and will be sent a 1099 at the end of the year for tax reporting purposes.
