I have both a checkings and savings account with tdbank. However, I want to close my checkings account but remain with my savings account with td bank. Is it possible to just have a savings account with td bank?

Hi Dora and we appreciate you connecting with us on TD Helps today.
We'd like to let you know that we are committed to your satisfaction as a Customer. If you have any questions or concerns about your banking experiences, we invite you to discuss them with us at a TD Bank Store. Please find your closest location and lobby hours here: http://bit.ly/TDStores.
You are able to have just a Savings account with us if you choose. We do offer a few ways to close your Checking account. If your account has a remaining balance, you may transfer the funds from your Checking account to your Savings account either online or over the phone.
If you are enrolled in Online Banking, after the transfer you are able to send us a Secure Message to close the account as well. To send a Secure Message you must first logon to your TD Bank online profile. You can do so by clicking here: http://bit.ly/1eaISlq. On the left hand side, you should see an option to "Send a secure message" located in the “Message Center."
If you're not enrolled in Online Banking, you may give us a call 24/7 at 888-751-9000 and we can process the transfer and close your account upon account verification. Or, if you'd rather withdraw the funds and visit your local TD Bank Store to close your Checking account, you may do that as well.
Hope this helps and have a pleasant day.
