Thanks for the question, Paula!
We have a few options available for you to make transfers from your TD Bank account and we'd be glad to go over them with you!
You have the option of transferring between your TD Bank accounts via Online Banking. Once you're logged in please click on the "Transfer" tab. You'll then need to enter in the amount you're looking to transfer, select the account it's coming from and the account it's going to as well as whether this will be an Immediate or Scheduled Transfer then click "Continue." On the next page you'll confirm the details are correct then select "Complete Transfer."
Another option for you, if you have a personal account with us and use Online Banking, is to send a Person-to-Person Payment. This feature will allow you to send funds from your TD Bank account to someone else's account at another financial institution. There are two delivery options: three business day (which has a fee of $1.00) and next business day delivery (which has fee of $7.00). Please note, the next day delivery option is not available for savings accounts. To qualify for the next day delivery option, you must wait 90 days from your first successful 3-day transfer and must not have had any transactions that overdrew your account in the past 90 days.
We also offer the option of External Transfers, which is also available from your personal account via Online Banking. This feature will allow you to transfer funds from your TD Bank account to an account that you have at a different financial institution. Similarly to the Person-to-Person transfer option, you will also have two delivery options with External Transfers as well, three day or next day delivery. For the three day option, the fee is $3.00 whereas; next day delivery has a fee of $7.00. Again, the next day delivery option will become available to you after 90 days of your first successful 3 day transfer and your account must be without any overdrafts in the past 90 days.
If you choose either of these services, you must first be enrolled in Online Banking. If you have an ATM/Debit Card, your account number and an email address you may fill out the online application to access your personal account(s). Please visit http://bit.ly/1lU2qfY to enroll for TD Bank Online Banking. Once there, you will need to choose Personal from the drop down box. First, you'll have to accept the Online Banking Agreement. Then, we'll ask you to enter in your personal information (Name, Social Security number, account number, etc.) and finally, you will have to set up three security questions. After those 3 steps are completed, you will have immediate access to your account(s) online.
Once you're enrolled and logged in, to use the Person-to-Person option, you may click on the tab at the top of the page titled "Person-to-Person Payments." Then you'll be asked to accept a user agreement, review the fee schedule and confirm your email and phone number. A text and email code will be sent to the mobile number and email address we have on file for you. Next we will request you to submit both codes for verification to complete the enrollment process. Once the enrollment is complete you’ll be ready to send the payment!
If you're looking to transfer funds using the External Transfer option, you can do so by using the "Transfers" tab. After selecting the "Transfers" tab you will then have to click "Transfer to Accounts Outside TD Bank." You would have to add your account at a different institution. To do so, select "Add a New Account." You will then be prompted to select the type of account followed by the account and routing numbers. Once you enter the required fields, the transfer service will then display whether or not you can make an immediate transfer. In some cases, a trial deposit is initiated at the receiving institution for verification purposes.
External transfers and Person-to-Person Payments can only be conducted to or from a U.S. account in U.S. currency only. They can only be made from an Eligible Transaction Account: for example, Personal Checking, Money Market or Savings accounts are usually allowed, with you as a signer on the account. Please note, accounts excluded from using this service due to ACH restrictions include, but are not limited to: Passbook, IRA, Holiday Club, Club Saver, and CDs.
For the Terms and Conditions in addition to information on the payment methods and amounts, please check http://bit.ly/1pADlWD. If you have any difficulties, please contact our Digital Banking Specialists for assistance 24/7 at 800-493-7562. We recommend checking with the other financial institution to ensure no other additional information is required.
Another transfer type available to you is wire transfers. You can send wires to any bank within the country and across the globe! If you are making a transfer within the US, you will need to gather the name, address and ABA routing number of the receiving bank, the name of the account to be credited, the beneficiary address and the account number. Sending an international wire is a little different than one within the US. To send an international wire all you need is:
- The full name, address, including city, state/province, country and account number of the person/business (for Euro Zone countries – IBAN – International Banking Account Number) you are sending money to
- The full name and address, including city, state/province and country of the financial institution receiving the funds
- The amount and currency of the transfer
Keep in mind also that depending on the currency you are sending, some transactions may take longer than others. You may want to contact the other financial institution to determine what information they require to receive the wire. Take a look here, http://bit.ly/1cTejgt for fees that may apply for wire transfers. Please note that wire transfers can only be scheduled at a TD Bank location during lobby hours. For lobby hour information and locations near you please take a look here: http://bit.ly/TDStores.
Thanks again for writing in, Paula and enjoy your afternoon.
