Hello, Zaniqua and thanks for reaching out with your question. We appreciate you considering us and would love to answer your question.
You may open an account with any type of deposit. Please keep in mind that the type of deposit you make determines when the funds will be available. When making a check or money order deposit, the first $100 is made available right way. Since you'll be a new account holder, meaning your account has not yet been open for thirty consecutive days, check deposits can be held for seven business days for verification purposes. After this grace period, not only will the first $100 be made available at the time of deposit, but the rest of the funds will credit to your account the next business day.
Direct deposits are a little different and are available on the same business day that they are credited to your account, even while they are in a pending status. Similarly, cash deposits made with a Teller or at an ATM are also made available the same business day for use.
If you make a check deposit through the ATM, the first $100 dollars is credited the next business day for new accounts or immediately after your account has been held with us for more than 90 days. The remainder of your deposit will usually be applied to your account on the seventh business day.
