Thank you for your interest in banking with TD, Nancy. We'd be glad to help!
Before we begin, we'd like to invite you to take a look at the accounts we currently offer. By clicking here: http://bit.ly/Wczmq0 you can view a list of our Checking accounts or you can see our Savings accounts here: http://bit.ly/1l6nLQ7. You may use our Selector Tools for guidance by clicking here http://bit.ly/1pJT9I9 for Checking and here: http://bit.ly/1vW1DvM for Savings.
Once you've decided on the best account that fits your banking needs, there are many ways available for you to open the account. You can open an account with us via online by clicking onto "Open Account" button underneath the account that you wish to open, call us 24/7 by dialing 888-751-9000 or by visiting a TD Store. To take a look at TD Stores near you please visit http://bit.ly/TDStores.
Regardless of the method you choose, you will need to bring a valid photo I.D. such as a Driver's License, State ID, Military ID or Passport in which cannot be expired and your Social Security Number.
In regards to cashing the check you've mentioned in your question, you will be able to deposit the check rather than cash it. As the check is not drawn off of TD Bank, you'd need enough funds in your new account to cover the check in question. We apologize if this causes any inconvenience.
If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to call the number mentioned above or visit a TD Store.
We hope this helps, Nancy and we hope to see you soon!
