Thanks for joining us on TD Helps, Joel. We're happy to hear that you're interested in a checking account with us and we'd be glad to help!
There is no minimum amount required to open an account with us. However, depending on the type of account you choose to open, you may be required to maintain a minimum daily balance to avoid a maintenance fee. If you choose an account with a minimum daily balance, we recommend opening the account with that amount as an initial deposit.
We offer many different types of checking accounts. To take a look at the checking accounts we have to offer, please visit http://bit.ly/1aDaRqd or feel free to use our Checking Selector Tool http://bit.ly/1vW1xnU for help with selecting a checking account that suits your needs.
Once you've decided on an account for you, there are a few ways you're able to open your new account. You are able to open your account online by selecting "Open Account" beneath the product of your choosing, by calling us 24/7 by dialing 888-751-9000 or by visiting any TD Store during lobby hours. To take a look at TD Stores near you please visit http://bit.ly/TDStores.
Keep in mind that regardless of the method you choose to open your new account, you will need a valid photo I.D. (Driver's license, State ID, or Passport etc.) and your Social Security Number.
We hope to hear from you soon, Joel and have a good afternoon.

Good afternoon, Yolanda, and thanks for joining in on the conversation today.
We're happy to announce that the information our friend Megan have provided above is still the most accurate way in which you may open an account, and we recommend reviewing her response for more information.
We apologize for any inconvenience; however, please understand that TD Helps is not considered a secure forum of contact, and because of this, we do not have access to your personal information.
Thanks for stopping by, Yolanda. Have a great day!
