I want to find the most effective way to pay a loan off when I buy a house. Can I take out a line of credit instead of a mortgage so I can pay what I want when I want? I have 50000 to put towards a home, but we are not wanting to pay excessive interest rates if at all possible

Thanks for joining us here at TD Helps, Neil. We would be happy to help provide some useful information.
Here at TD Bank, we offer a variety of lending options for your needs. The first step would be determining which type of loan best suits you.
We invite you to visit http://bit.ly/1f9XZWu and http://bit.ly/1cJ2lJA for more information on the types of loans we have available. We understand you mentioned you did not want a mortgage; however, we would still like to share with you the types of mortgages we currently offer, please take a look here if you'd like: http://bit.ly/Pj0Nes.
To apply for a loan or line of credit you may apply online or contact our Financial Solutions Group Specialists 24/7 by calling 800-937-5020. They will be more than happy to answer any questions you may have about the loans we offer and also help with the application process.
If you prefer speaking with a Representative in person, please feel free to stop by a TD Bank Store in your neighborhood during normal lobby hours. They will also be able to assist you with your application. For hours and locations near you please visit: http://bit.ly/TDStores.
We also noticed that you are writing to us from Edmonton. We want to let you know that you have reached TD Bank here in the US, and if you meant to contact our partners up at TD Canada Trust – no worries! We'd be happy to help point you in the right direction! We invite you to check out: http://bit.ly/1CylHMN for some assistance. Our friend Marko answered a similar question and we believe his response could help you. If you have any further questions, feel free to submit your own inquiry via their TD Helps page here: http://bit.ly/1qHQQns.
Lastly, if you are looking to purchase a home here in the U.S., check out: http://bit.ly/1zUbNEQ to see what else our friend Marko had to say.
We hope this helps and please let us know if you have any additional questions.
