Welcome to TD Helps, Ige. We'll be sure to point you in the right direction today.
You'll be happy to know that when making your initial deposit after account opening, it can be a personal check!
First you'd want to decide on the account. We offer many different types of accounts, both Checking Accounts and Saving Accounts. Please take a look here https://go.td.com/29HKKlx to review the current Checking Accounts that we offer and here https://go.td.com/1l6nLQ7 for the current Savings Accounts that we offer. We also invite you to take a look here: https://go.td.com/1vW1xnU for help selecting a checking account that is the best fit for you; we also have a Savings Selector Tool https://go.td.com/1vW1DvM which can help you choose the best savings account for your needs.
Once you're decided on the account you'd like to open, you are able to bring your check, a valid photo I.D. (Driver's License, State issued photo I.D., Passport etc.) and your Social Security Number to a TD Store near you! To take a look at TD Stores near you and their hours please visit http://go.td.com/1f9DSJR.
Please know that you are also able to open your account over the phone 24/7 by dialing 888-751-9000 or by selecting "Open Account" beneath the product of your choosing. Once opened, you will be able to deposit your personal check at any TD Store.
We hope this information is helpful and please take care, Ige.
