Thanks for coming by TD Helps, Bruce! We're glad to hear that you would like to open an account with us and we'll be happy to answer any questions you may have.
Great news, you can transfer funds back and forth from your TD Ameritrade to your TD Bank account! Prior to opening an account, we encourage you to take a look at our different types of accounts here: http://bit.ly/1x1GxB6 . You can also get a personalized recommendation by visiting our Checking Selector Tool here: http://bit.ly/1vW1xnU . If you are interested on a Savings account, you may view and compare Savings account products here: http://bit.ly/1pJT9I9. If you prefer, we also have a Savings Selector Tool http://bit.ly/1vW1DvM; which can also help. After your recommended account pops up, you will be given the option to open your account online, right then and there! You could also open your account by calling 888-751-9000 and speaking with a Customer Service Representative 24/7 and one of our Banking Specialists can open the account for you. Or if you prefer, you may visit your local TD Bank Store, click on http://bit.ly/TDStores to find TD Bank near you.
Please keep in mind that if you want to transfer the funds as part of the opening process, you must open the account online. To get started, you'll need the following: Your Social Security number, One of the following: Driver's license, State ID, or Passport. To make a first deposit online, you may use your TD Ameritrade account, Checking account or debit card linked to an account from another financial institution, a credit card (Visa or MasterCard) or you can stop by your local TD Bank Store to make a deposit.
There is no minimum amount required to open an account with us. However, depending on the type of account you choose to open, you may be required to maintain a minimum daily balance to avoid a maintenance fee. If you choose an account with a minimum daily balance, we recommend opening the account with that amount as an initial deposit.
Because you have up to 30 days to make your initial deposit (except for accounts with a minimum balance to avoid any maintenance fees) you may also open the account by using any of the options provided above.
With that said, you have a couple of ways that you can transfer funds to and from your TD Ameritrade and TD Bank account. You may login to your account on the TD Ameritrade website and request to retrieve funds from TD Bank via ACH. You can also utilize our Bill Pay feature and set up TD Ameritrade as a payee as well. If you have any questions regarding these methods, please contact TD Ameritrade 24/7 at 800-400-3603.
We hope we were able to answer all your questions today, Bruce and thank you for considering TD Bank.
