I have a son who lives in Canada with his wife and 2 sons. Currently I have savings accounts for both boys in the US and write checks for holidays/birthdays, etc. I also send my son and his wife checks for various occasions. if I opened up an account at TD would I then be able to transfer money to my son's and grandsons accounts in Ca?

Thanks for joining the TD Helps community, Judy. We're glad to hear that you may be interested in opening an account with us!
Since you mentioned that you would like to open accounts with us here at TD Bank in the United States, first we would like to let you know that although we are affiliated with TD Canada Trust and work closely with our companions there, we are two separate entities. As such, we'll be glad to discuss your unique request.
If you decide to set up an account for yourself here at TD Bank U.S., you'll be able to transfer funds, free of charge, between your accounts here and any accounts you have with TD Canada Trust. Please note that you'll need to be listed as an Authorized Signer on the accounts at each bank in order to qualify for free transfers. To make this happen, if you don't have any accounts there, you'll either need to establish your own or be added as a signer to your son's or grandsons' existing accounts at TD Canada Trust.
We encourage you to speak with a Representative from our TD Cross Border Banking Support Line 24/7 by calling 877-700-2913, who can answer any questions you may have regarding our Cross Border Banking services and fill you in a bit more regarding this option.
