Can I open an account without a SSN? All of my identity documents (including passport) were issueed by a foreign country. I do have a US physical address. What do I need to do and what should I bring to the branch to open the account? Am I able to have a no fee account or a Convenience account where I would recieve no fee for maintaining a balance of at least $100?

Thanks for visiting us here on TD Helps, Patrick. We appreciate you wanting to bank with TD Bank and would be happy to help!
Without a Social Security number, during your visit at a TD Store, you will be required to fill out a W-8 form to complete the account opening process. If you are not a US citizen, you will not be required to have a US physical address, but you will need to bring your foreign Passport along with 2 forms of identification: driver's license, State ID, or US Passport. For hours and locations please view: http://bit.ly/TDStores.
Prior to your visit, we understand you mentioned the Convenience Checking account, we still invite you to take a look at the different types of Checking accounts that TD Bank offers take a look here: http://bit.ly/Wczmq0. Is this still the case? My wife and I have elected not to get our child a social security number primarily due to identity theft concerns. They were born in the US but dont have an ss #. We dont want an itin either. Can we still open an account for her?

Thanks for your question, Mike.
The above information is still correct in regard to opening a bank account without the use of a Social Security Number. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
If you have any questions, please reach out to us using the number mentioned above or reach out to your local TD Store.
Have a great day!
