Thanks for joining me here on TD Helps. We're sure that we can get you started in the right direction.
TD Bank U.S. is affiliated with TD Canada Trust; you should definitely take advantage of our Cross Border Banking options! Once your new Checking account is set up with TD Bank US, you can transfer funds between your TD Bank US and TD Canada Trust accounts at free of charge. If you wish to, please feel free to speak with a Representative from our TD Cross Border Banking Support Line 24/7 by calling 1-877-700-2913, who can answer any questions you may have regarding Cross Border Banking.
We offer many different types of Checking and Savings accounts. To view and compare our checking accounts, visit http://bit.ly/1oXjGgF or check out our Checking Selector Tool http://bit.ly/1vW1xnU for help selecting a checking account that is the best fit you. To view and compare savings account products, click on http://bit.ly/1g5vhXQ , or if you prefer, we also have a Savings Selector Tool http://bit.ly/1vW1DvM which can help you choose the best savings account for your needs.
If you are a Canadian resident and have a legal address there, you can visit http://bit.ly/1ishIab to begin an account with TD Bank in the United States. Please click on the Open a U.S. Account button on the right side. On the page which follows, additional information about the products we offer is available. Use the Open Account buttons to select your account and begin the application process.
If you prefer, you can speak with a Representative from our TD Cross Border Banking Support Line 24/7 by calling 1-877-700-2913, who can also assist you in opening the account by phone.
With either method, we request that you provide your name, street address, date of birth, Social Insurance number and valid identification to complete the account opening process. Please keep in mind that your Canadian consumer credit profile will also be used to verify your identity.
If you wish to open a joint account, both parties must be present at the time of the account opening and can visit any TD Bank Store. To find out TD store locations near you, please visit, http://bit.ly/TDStores.
You are also welcome to open an individual account online or via telephone first. Once your individual account has successfully opened, you can then visit any local TD Bank Store with the person who you wish to add to your account. Please keep in mind that you will need your foreign Passport along with 2 forms of identification: driver's license, State ID, or US Passport to complete the account opening process.
Fiona, we hope this helps to make banking on both sides of the border convenient. Have a great day.
