Good Morning, Mary, welcome to TD Helps.
In order for a stop payment to be effective, we do ask that you provide us with the check number, amount, and payee for the check you wish to stop. You may reference your account history and review which checks have been debited, and which checks are outstanding. This may help you figure out the check number for the check you wish to stop!
Once you're ready to place a stop payment, you may call us, visit your local TD Bank Store, or request a stop payment online. You're able to reach us by phone 24/7 at 888-751-9000, and we invite you to click here: http://bit.ly/TDStores to view our Store location and hours.
If you are currently enrolled in online banking, you may log in here: https://go.td.com/1eaISlq. Once you've logged in, please click the 'Customer Service' tab and select 'Stop Payment'.
If you are not currently enrolled in online banking, you may use our self-service option by visiting: http://bit.ly/1lU2qfY to begin the enrollment process. In order to do so, you will need your account number, TD Bank ATM/Debit Card, your Social Security Number and your email address. Once you're at the page, please select 'Personal' from the drop down box. When you select continue, you will have to read and accept the Online Banking Service Agreement. Then you will be asked to enter your personal information including the items mentioned earlier and to create a user name and password. Finally you will be asked to create three security questions. When you finish the enrollment process, you will have immediate access to your account(s).
Please be advised that a stop payment fee may apply, depending on your account type. Please click here: https://go.td.com/2lbbfGg to view our personal fee schedule.
We hope this information helps, Mary. Thanks for joining us today and take care!
