Good morning and thank you for sending your question to TD Helps, Chris. We are more than happy to provide the information that is needed to initiate this transfer.
If you have a TD Bank (personal or business) Checking, Savings or Money Market account, you can visit a TD Bank Store to initiate an outgoing wire transfer to any financial institution within or even outside the United States. For hours and locations near you please take a look at: http://bit.ly/TDStores. Once at the Store, you will need to provide the name, address and ABA (routing) number of the receiving bank, the name of the account to be credited, the beneficiary address and the account number.
For an outgoing International wire transfer, you will need to obtain the SWIFT Code from the receiving bank. You will also need to provide the name, routing and account numbers of the recipient.
The cut-off time for domestic wire transfers to be processed on the same banking day is 5:00 PM, which means as long as you set up the domestic wire by 5:00 PM, it should be received that same day. Foreign currency wire transfer requests received by the International Department by 1:00 PM weekdays will be sent the same day. US Dollar Wire Transfer requests received by the International Department by 2:00 PM weekdays will be sent the same day. Funds should be available to the recipient in approximately 3 to 5 banking days.
We utilize the services of correspondent and/or intermediary banks to transfer funds to banks overseas. These banks might charge a fee for their services, and the correspondent and/or intermediary bank might deduct these fees from the wire transfer amount. Please note that we do not process or disburse funds from wire transfers received designated Pay Upon Proper Identification (PUPID) and return them to the sender.
As you mentioned that you have a personal Checking account, if you're wiring funds to another bank which is also located in US, we believe Person-to-Person payment may also fit your needs.
In order to be eligible to use the Person-to-Person payment service, you must have a United States address, a unique United States phone number, a United States issued Social Security number and a valid unique email address. You must also be enrolled for Online Banking and be using a TD Bank Checking or Money Market account for the transfer.
If you have met all the requirements listed above and are also enrolled for Online Banking, you’ll need to be logged in from here http://bit.ly/1eaISlq in order to initiate a Person-to-Person payment:
- First, you must enroll in the service. To do so, you would select the tab that says Person-to-Person payments at the top of your Online Banking screen.
- Then, you will be asked to accept a user agreement, review the fee schedule and confirm your email and phone number. A text and email code will be sent to the mobile number and email address we have on file for you.
- Next we will request you to submit both codes for verification to complete the enrollment process.
You will have two delivery options when sending a Person-to-Person payment; there is the three business day option and the next business day delivery. Please note, the next day delivery option is not available for savings accounts. To qualify for the next day delivery option, you must wait 90 days from your first successful 3-day transfer and must not have had any transactions that overdrew your account in the past 90 days.
If you are not currently enrolled for Online Banking and wish to do so for your Personal Checking or Savings account, you may use our self-service option by visiting http://bit.ly/1lU2qfY to begin the enrollment process. You will need your account number, TD Bank ATM/Debit Card, your Social Security number and your email address. Once at the page, please select "Personal" from the drop down box. When you select continue, you will have to read and accept the Online Banking Service Agreement. Then you will be asked to enter your personal information including the items mentioned earlier and to create a user name and password. Finally you will be asked to create three security questions. When you finish the enrollment process, you will have immediate access to your account(s).
If you do not have the required information to set up for Online Banking or you need assistance enrolling, you may contact us 24/7 at 1-888-751-9000 to speak with a Banking Specialist. Upon proper account verification, we would be happy to help get you started.
Please note that there may be fees for the use of the above services. We invite you to take a look at our Fee Schedule here: http://bit.ly/1cTejgt.
We hope you find our answer helpful and please don't hesitate to return to TD Helps if you have any further questions
