I have an account with TD that is under both mine and my husbands name can I sign the check if only his name is written on the check?

Good morning, Devorah, and welcome to TD Helps.
This is a great question, and we'll be more than happy to help!
As you mentioned that you currently have a check in your possession that is written to your husband, while you will not be able to cash this check, you'll have no problem depositing this item into a joint account you may have with him!
When making your deposit, as the check is in your husband's name, we recommend not signing the back of his check with your signature, but rather writing 'For Deposit Only' to avoid any acceptance issue. Just in case you're unfamiliar with the options available to you to make your deposit, we'd like to take this opportunity to review them with you.
Your first option is to visit your nearest TD Store location to deposit your husband's check with one of our knowledgeable Tellers. You're welcome to use the link here: http://go.td.com/1f9DSJR to find your nearest TD Store location, as well as their lobby hours and contact information. You may also visit a TD Store location to make your deposit at an ATM, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
In addition to visiting a Store location, you would also have the option of making a mobile deposit directly from your Mobile Banking App. To do so, you'll first want to log into your Mobile Banking App using your online banking credentials, and then select the 'Deposit' button, which you can find towards the top of your screen. From here, you'll need to select the account you would like your deposit to be credited to, as well as the amount, and then simply take a picture of both the front and the back of the check. After selecting 'Continue', you'll need to confirm the information, and then press 'Deposit Check' to complete your mobile deposit!
If you have any questions or concerns at all before making your deposit, you're more than welcome to connect with us directly, and we'll be happy to help! You may first connect with a Representative at your nearest TD Store location, during lobby hours, or you're also welcome to speak with one of our Banking Specialists. For your convenience, they are available to help 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and can be reached by simply dialing 1-888-751-9000.
We hope you found this information helpful, Devorah!
Take care, and happy New Year!
