I'm 18 and currently a freshman in college, but my savings account is still giving me $14.00 maintenance fees every month. Can the account simply be changed into a student savings or must I open a student savings account, transfer the money, and then close the old account? Thanks.

Welcome to TD Helps, Nicholas.
In some cases an account can be changed over to a different product type by calling us 24/7 at 888-751-9000 or visiting a nearby TD location. For a listing of our Stores and hours please view: http://bit.ly/TDStores.
There are some exceptions when the account would have to be closed and a new one open in order to obtain a different account type. We encourage you to contact us by phone (at the number above) or by visiting us at a Store to determine how you can change your account over.
We hope to hear from you soon, Nicholas and please enjoy the rest of your day.
